About Us

The Technical Secretariat for Food Security was established pursuant to Ministerial Resolution No. (162) of 2013 of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and was reconstituted by Ministerial Resolution No. (001) of 2019 based on Cabinet Resolution No. 109 of 2013) according to which the Supreme Council for Food Security was established.
The Technical Secretariat for Food Security is a permanent entity within the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MoPIC) responsible for providing technical advice in the field of policies and programs related to food security issues to the Supreme Council for Food Security.
The Technical Secretariat for Food Security is also responsible for supporting the decision-making process on food security in Yemen by providing accurate and timely information. Among the main tasks of the Technical Secretariat for Food Security is also the promotion of data and information collection and analysis activities in order to support decision makers and improve procedures related to policies and programmes.
